Welcome to Core CMS v0.5.5! After giving power-users raw code access and perfecting our glassmorphic admin themes in previous updates, we're shifting gears to tackle visibility. When you build a beautiful post, it deserves to look just as stunning when shared on X (Twitter), Facebook, or LinkedIn.
This update introduces native Featured Image Support combined with a robust Advanced SEO & Rich Snippets engine that makes your content look brilliant everywhere.
🖼️ Featured Image Selection
We've significantly upgraded the Editor Interface. Instead of a single column, we’ve implemented a modern, responsive Sidebar Layout.
- Media Library Integration: You'll now find a dedicated "Featured Image" card directly in your sidebar. With one click, it taps directly into the existing Media Library to let you assign the perfect visual.
- Smart Fallbacks: If you're in a hurry and leave the Featured Image blank, Core CMS is smart enough to automatically fall back to your global Site Logo.
📈 The Advanced SEO Meta Engine
What happens when you share a link? Up until now, social networks had to guess what your page was about. Not anymore.
- Open Graph Injection: The new engine hooks safely into the
<head>of your site and generates perfectog:title,og:image,og:url,og:site_name, andog:typetags. - Dynamic Excerpts: Core CMS now auto-generates plain-text snippets from your block data to populate
og:descriptionandtwitter:descriptionautomatically. - Extended Meta: We now include
article:published_time,article:modified_time, and your post tags (article:tag) to give platforms deep context about your content. - Twitter Cards: We explicitly declare
twitter:cardassummary_large_imageand support global@site_handleand@author_handleconfigurations via the new Admin SEO settings.
🧠 Rich Snippets (Schema.org)
Under the hood, Core CMS now writes complex JSON-LD structured data to help search engines understand your site at a glance.
- Rich Article Schema: We've upgraded the default schema to full
BlogPostingandArticleconfigurations, including headlines, authors, and timestamps. - Breadcrumb Schema: Your site's breadcrumbs now output
BreadcrumbListstructured data, helping Google display neat navigation paths in search results.
🔮 What's Next? (Phase 7)
With SEO stabilized, we are moving towards Phase 7: Commerce, IoT & Plugins. Get ready for:
- PayPal & Stripe Integration: Turning your blog into a lightweight storefront.
- Digital Signage: Headless mode for TV/Screen controllers.
- Network Management: WiFi Hotspot and Captive Portal integration for local hosts.
